Zer02
A print collection for GANNI
Developed for the Fashion Scholarship Fund Design Case Study 2024
CONCEPT
Employing cutting edge carbon capture and carbon cancellation technologies this collection aims to utilize textiles which are not only environmentally conscious, but an active part of bettering the world around them. ZerO2 partners with Ganni’s existing carbon-neutrality efforts while pushing them beyond traditional business boundaries into actionable change on part of not only the brand, but the consumers themselves.
Utilizing cutting-edge technologies developed by Post Carbon Lab, DyeCoo, and Graviky Labs that recycle and repurpose carbon emissions as well as replenish the atmosphere, the collection’s push for carbon-neutrality makes strides towards the brand’s goal of 50% carbon reduction by 2027. Partnering with these forward-thinking textile engineers solidifies GANNI as a brand that is an active participant in innovation that will make lasting change to the industry.
This print and pattern collection elevates the consumer’s experience of brands with a focus on sustainability, taking it from a marketing slogan to an actionable process that relies on the wearer and their relationship with GANNI and the environment.
The prints draw inspiration thematically from the architectural tradition and natural landscape of Scandinavian countries, such as Denmark, the home
of GANNI. The collection encourages a reunion with nature in our daily lives, a reminder of the importance of not only engaging with the world around us, but protecting it as well. Looking beyond the micro-trend cycles of our current fashion world, the collection aims for lasting looks; garments and prints that will be as stylish in 5 years as they are now. Longevity is an essential element of any change, especially one that aims to reduce waste. This collection will find its home in springtime farmer’s market visits, city walks to work, cups of coffee on the patio, any number of day to day tasks
that could do with just a touch of Scandi-style.
